We are not paid by tour operators for placement, and the order of tours reflects what suits which traveller, not commission rates. We say plainly when a from-price is a group rate, which entry fees a tour leaves out, and when you can do a part of Old Cairo without a tour at all.

Official entry tickets to the Citadel, the mosques and the museums are sold by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities at each site; we earn nothing on them.
